This Unusual Victorian Oak Antique Chair / CAQUETOIRE chair is stamped Genèva 1895 but also JC 1536 so is a copy from a much older design. It is made from Walnut with a high back, having very fine carvings and scrolled arms. The solid seat has a fine carved edge and this quality antique chair has cross stretchers for added stability. The walnut has aged to a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of furniture wax finishing.
